The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, was unable to arrive in Brussels for a scheduled meeting with representatives of the European Commission due to temporary air traffic restrictions in Belgium.
According to STVR, the flight was disrupted by a failure in the air traffic control service Skeyes, which led to the closure of airspace.
Fico intends to discuss with European Commission representatives the issue of Ukraine halting the transit of Russian gas to Slovakia, as well as to hold a meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
As reported, the meeting has been postponed to February 3.
Additionally, Politeka wrote that a Romanian politician has claimed part of Ukraine. Pro-Russian politician Kelin Georgescu openly stated during a discussion with journalist Ion Christoi that Ukraine is a "fictional state," and its division among neighboring countries is "inevitable."
Furthermore, we reported on how Donald Trump might end the war in Ukraine. In his article for The Times, William Hague, former British Minister and member of the House of Lords, emphasized that a resurgence of conflict in Ukraine would be a disaster that could overshadow even Biden's defeat in Afghanistan.
According to the British lord, Trump will soon realize that only by expanding American commitments can major wars be brought to an end.
