Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki believes that misinformation, stemming from unverified media platforms, played a crucial role in the defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris in the elections.
In her interview with The Hill, Psaki emphasized that Democrats have lost the ability to effectively communicate their messages to voters due to the growing influence of non-traditional media.
"One of the things that has changed since I got involved in politics is the increase in the percentage of people receiving information from platforms that lack fact-checking mechanisms and are not held accountable for spreading misinformation," Psaki noted.
The former Obama administration staffer and Biden's press secretary believes that legislative changes are necessary to address this issue.
"Laws need to change. I don’t even know the complete answer to this question, but I feel that this is a fundamental issue," she emphasized.
Interestingly, despite losing the presidential seat, Kamala Harris remains an important political figure whose future actions could influence the Democratic Party's direction. Earlier, Politeka reported on what the politician plans to do following her election loss. For more details, read the link.
