Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak believes that Donald Trump, if he returns to the presidency, could initiate extensive negotiations with Putin.
According to Barak, Iran is on the verge of acquiring nuclear status, and Trump, although known for his tough stance on Tehran, may opt for a new strategy. This significantly contrasts with Joe Biden's views regarding Israeli actions on Iranian sites.
"It is possible that, despite the members of Trump’s new administration appearing very hardline towards Iran, the overall isolationist sentiment of the new administration will lead them to consider a much broader agreement," Barak emphasized.
He suggests that the upcoming diplomatic agreement could involve interconnected negotiations with Moscow regarding Ukraine, where Trump would encourage the Russian president to help "convince Tehran to cease its puppet actions, activities against Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, and Israel, and to find some formula for peaceful coexistence."
Ideally, this agreement would encompass a new nuclear deal with Tehran that would gain support from the international community.
