Among the proposed options for ending the war are both traditional approaches and scenarios that contradict the election rhetoric of the newly elected president.

According to CNN, there are several suggestions, including peace negotiations involving Russia and Ukraine, delaying Ukraine's NATO membership, and even creating autonomous Ukrainian regions. Experts suggest that Trump's national security advisor, Michael Waltz, is likely to advocate for a ceasefire and a "freezing" of the conflict to initiate talks. Meanwhile, the Trump administration plans to shift much of the financial burden of supporting Ukraine onto European allies and NATO.

At the same time, Kit Kellogg, appointed as special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, proposed conditioning further U.S. military assistance on Kyiv's participation in negotiations with Moscow. Additionally, Ukraine's NATO membership could be postponed indefinitely. According to Kellogg, this would give Russia a reason to come to the negotiating table.

Another plan, proposed by Rick Grenell, involves the creation of "autonomous regions" within Ukraine.

"Another idea being discussed is to allow Russia to retain the territory it currently holds in exchange for Ukraine's NATO membership, although few in Trump's orbit seem eager to invite Ukraine into the Alliance anytime soon," CNN sources noted.

Sebastian Gorka, Waltz's deputy, spoke about the possibility of a tough stance toward Putin:

"I'll give one hint that the president mentioned: he will tell this murderer, the former KGB colonel, this bandit running the Russian Federation, 'You will start negotiations now, or the assistance we have already provided to Ukraine will seem to you just flowers.' That's how he will make these gentlemen come to an agreement that will stop the bloodshed."
