A magnetic storm continues to affect Earth. Scientists have shared when it is expected to come to an end.

On Wednesday, January 1st, a five-point geomagnetic storm is expected to occur on our planet.
На Земле продолжается магнитная буря. Ученые сообщили, когда она, наконец, закончится.

A seven-point magnetic storm that persisted on December 30-31, 2024, has decreased in intensity to five points. Astrophysicists predict that it will last for another day – January 1.

Minor G1-class geomagnetic storms are likely on January 1, as the Earth passes through the trail of a coronal mass ejection (CME) that occurred on December 31, 2024. This was reported on the Spaceweather website.

"Skywatchers in high latitudes in dark areas may witness their first auroras of the New Year!", scientists added.

Magnetic Storms on Earth from January 1-5

According to data from the Meteoagent website, which bases its forecasts on NOAA, TESIS satellite systems, and international meteorological laboratories worldwide, on January 1, a strong magnetic storm of 5 points is expected on Earth. By January 2, its intensity will decrease, and minimal solar activity is anticipated. Geomagnetic "calm" is expected from January 3 to 5, inclusive.

Previously, Telegraf reported on the expected weather in Ukraine on January 1 according to the forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center. Meteorologists stated that in some regions, a yellow level (I) of danger has been declared due to strong wind gusts.
