Viktoriya Roshchina
Vika lived and breathed journalism. She often appeared immortal due to her stubbornness and persistence. With the onset of full-scale war, Vika risked her freedom and life to tell the world about the suffering of people in occupied territories. In September 2024, she died in Russian captivity.
Igor Flerko (Yar)
During the Revolution of Dignity, 17-year-old Igor, along with his comrades, traveled from his hometown of Lviv to Kyiv to witness key events in the country. By 2015, he enlisted as an artilleryman in the volunteer battalion "Azov." Since then, he has spent nearly 10 years at war (with a brief hiatus for civilian life).
Sviatoslav Mykytuyk
Before the full-scale war, Sviatoslav was a surgeon at a medical facility in Khmelnytskyi. Today, he saves the lives of Ukrainian defenders. Shrapnel wounds, fractures, amputations—this is the everyday reality faced by military medics on the front lines. They themselves often become targets of enemy shelling, yet despite all the risks, they tirelessly carry out their challenging mission.
Alexey Yukov
For 24 years, Alexey has been searching for the deceased and missing persons. The volunteer search group "Platsdarm," which he leads, was the first in Ukraine to engage in the search for the fallen—back during the war in Donbas (ATO). Currently, the volunteers under Alexey’s leadership are searching for the bodies of Russian soldiers, tortured and killed by local residents, as well as Ukrainian military personnel who died defending Ukraine's independence.
Roman Kashpur
The first Ukrainian veteran with an amputated limb to participate in the prestigious World Marathon Majors series. During the marathon distance, he refused the special nutrition and water provided by the rules. After his amputation, Roman pulled a 16-ton airplane down the runway and marched into battle on a prosthetic designed solely for swimming.
Andriy Trusov
A swimmer, champion of the 2024 Paralympic Games, holder of one gold and three silver medals, and a world record holder. Andriy’s established record will forever enter sports history: 26.38 seconds for the 50-meter freestyle. This is more than just athletic achievements—it symbolizes resilience and inspiration for all of us.
Yaroslava Mahuchikh
An athlete and Olympic champion who cleared a height of 2.10 m, breaking a 37-year-old record. Her incredible achievements prove that the impossible is possible. Yaroslava was named the best athlete in Europe in 2024.
Vivienne Mort
A band that has captured the hearts of hundreds of thousands of listeners with its unique sound and profound lyrics. Their music is a delicate blend of emotions, poetry, and bold experimentation. In 2024, after a six-year hiatus, the band released a new album titled "Fata," featuring 13 tracks and serving as a relay of experiences and life in a new reality.
Serhiy Zhadan
A poet, novelist, musician, and public figure. The voice of a generation. As of 2024, he is also a serviceman in the National Guard of Ukraine. Additionally, he founded "Radio Khartia," whose main goal is to "unite a society that is currently divided."
