From Tuesday, December 17, and continuing until the end of the month and throughout 2024, magnetic storms will be weak. The level will be up to 3 points, which is green.

"Telegraph" has prepared a forecast for magnetic storms from December 17 to January 5, based on data provided by meteoagent. On Tuesday, December 17, geomagnetic indicators will drop to a K-index of 4. This corresponds to a yellow level and has minimal impact on weather-sensitive individuals.

Starting from December 18 until January 4, green-level magnetic storms with a K-index of 3 will be observed. They are minor and do not significantly affect the inhabitants of Earth — however, it is essential to remember that they can intensify at any moment.

It is crucial to note that researchers of solar activity update their data every three hours.

Magnetic storms are phenomena caused by constant flares and explosions on the Sun. This results in the release of a significant amount of solar energy. A magnetic storm consists of charged particles (protons and electrons) that move rapidly, including towards Earth.
