Scientists' predictions vary: will a strong magnetic storm persist on Earth?

Some scientists predict that on January 2nd, a strong magnetic storm will reach a level of 7, and by January 3rd, its intensity will decrease to 4.
Ученые разделились во мнениях: как долго продлится мощная магнитная буря на Земле?

Some astro-meteorologists claim that a strong magnetic storm continues to persist on Earth, reaching a level of 7. However, others are confident that it has already ended.

Scientists from the space weather research site Spaceweather report that on January 1, the Earth's magnetic field experienced a strong G3-G4 class magnetic storm for over 9 hours. During such an event, the northern lights descended southward, reaching as far as Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona, and occasionally appeared over Alaska, Scandinavia, and New Zealand.

At the same time, according to data from the Meteoagent website, which bases its forecasts on satellite systems from NOAA, TESIS, and international meteorological laboratories around the globe, a seven-point red magnetic storm has been affecting Earth for four consecutive days.

Currently, on January 2, a strong geomagnetic storm at 7 points is ongoing. The following day, January 3, its intensity will decrease to 4 points, which is classified as a moderate magnetic storm. By the weekend, January 4-5, no fluctuations above 4 points are expected.

Previously, "Telegraph" reported that meteorologists provided a weekly forecast and discussed whether cold weather and precipitation could be expected in Ukraine.
