10 основных причин, почему ваш телефон не заряжается.

Imagine this situation: your phone has run out of battery, you grab the charging cable, plug it in, and… nothing happens. This is an unfortunate situation that can happen to anyone, but don't rush to panic.

In some cases, you can fix the problem without leaving your home. "Telegraph" outlines the 10 main reasons why your phone isn’t charging and how to resolve the issue.

The first issue might not be with the charger itself, but rather a faulty outlet or another power source. For instance, the USB port on your computer may not provide enough voltage to initiate charging. In this case, using a different power source may help resolve the problem.

The second reason could be issues with the charging cable. Inspect it for any mechanical damage — such as bends, tears, exposed wires, etc. If you find any, there’s a good chance you’ve just identified the source of the problem.

The third reason could be damage to the adapter ("brick") itself, as they tend to fail due to voltage spikes or overheating. If both the cable and adapter are malfunctioning, you'll need to replace them, as there’s no other way around it.

Additionally, the fourth reason may arise if the charger is not the original one. Cheap chargers might supply unstable voltage or may not even be compatible with your model, leading to charging issues.

The fifth reason might be related to the port being clogged with dust, dirt, or lint. Debris can block the contacts and prevent the phone from charging, so you can try to remove it with a thin object like a toothpick or brush. Avoid using metal pins, as they could scratch the contacts.

The sixth reason involves port damage due to prolonged or careless use. If the port is loose or shows visible physical damage, you should visit a service center.

The seventh reason is relevant for older devices and relates to the gradual wear of the battery. Try leaving the phone plugged in for 20-30 minutes, even if the indicator doesn’t light up. If nothing happens afterward, you’ll need to take the phone for repairs.

The eighth reason is related to software glitches that, while rare, can occur. In this case, the system simply doesn’t recognize the connected charger. Restart your phone, update the firmware, or reset the settings to resolve the issue.

The ninth reason is the activation of protection due to moisture exposure. To eliminate this, you need to let the phone dry out, but using a hairdryer to speed up the process is not advisable.

Finally, the tenth reason may be the activation of protection due to the phone overheating, which is especially relevant during hot days or if the device is near a radiator. In this case, allow the device to cool down.

If you’ve checked all the above and the phone still isn’t charging, the problem may be related to internal damage to the battery, motherboard, or power circuits. In such cases, it's best to consult an authorized service center for diagnosis.
