Although the strong seven-point storm has ended, a five-point magnetic storm will continue on Earth from January 3 to 5. This will occur due to a coronal mass ejection (CME) and solar wind flow.
As scientists from the space weather research site Spaceweather state, meteorologists from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) warn of minor geomagnetic storms classified as G1 on January 4 and 5. These will result from the CME and solar wind flow.
"This should be a relatively minor event, significantly less intense than the strong G4 storm on January 1", say astrophysicists.
On the website Meteoagent, which bases its forecast on NOAA satellite systems, TESIS, and scientific international meteorological laboratories worldwide, a schedule of geomagnetic fluctuations has been published through the end of the current week.
Currently, on January 3, a five-point magnetic storm is ongoing, which is also forecasted for January 4 and 5.
