As phones age, they may begin to slow down and function improperly. If you're not looking to speed up your smartphone but instead decided to replace it, it's crucial not to lose your data.

"Telegraph" explains how to transfer data between an old and a new smartphone running Android OS. Data transfer from one phone to another can be accomplished using various methods, depending on the types of devices involved and the owner's preferences.

Using a Google Account

If both devices are linked to the same Google account, you can easily sync your data. To do this, go to "Settings" > "Accounts" > Google on both devices and enable data synchronization for contacts, calendar, etc. It's important to do this first on the old phone and then on the new one.

Transfer via Bluetooth and NFC

If you need to transfer text documents or other small files, you can enable Bluetooth on both phones, pair them, and select the files you wish to transfer. The process is similar with NFC; however, the phones need to be almost touching.

USB Cable

Connect both phones to a computer or directly to each other using a compatible USB cable. File transfer is carried out using file management software.

Cloud Storage Services

Cloud services like Google Drive or Dropbox allow you to upload photos, music, and other large files to cloud storage. You can then access them from any device and download them to your new smartphone.

Previously, "Telegraph" discussed what to do if your phone freezes or refuses to restart and turn off in the usual way. There are several ways to tackle the issue, but if it persists, you may need to seek service assistance.
