A Boeing satellite unexpectedly crashed in orbit, and the reason remains a mystery.

He worked for only 8 years instead of 15.
На орбите неожиданно разрушился спутник Boeing, и причины этого инцидента остаются неизвестными.

Communication satellite Intelsat 33e unexpectedly failed in geostationary orbit. The U.S. Space Force detected at least 20 pieces of debris following the satellite's destruction.

The incident occurred on Saturday, October 19, over the Indian Ocean, writes Livescience. Service provider Intelsat confirmed the "total loss" of the satellite on Monday, October 21.

The satellite, the size of a limousine, weighed 6,600 kilograms. It was launched in 2016 to provide broadband communication across Europe, Africa, and Asia. Boeing developed the satellite as part of the new EpicNG platform generation.

The U.S. Space Force has not detected any direct threat from the debris. The causes of the destruction are still unknown. Intelsat has established a special commission to investigate the incident. The company is collaborating with Boeing and government agencies to analyze the data.

This is the second satellite from Boeing's EpicNG platform to suffer a failure. The first satellite, IS-29e, also ceased operations prematurely. Experts suggest that a micrometeoroid or a solar storm causing a fuel leak may have led to its failure.

Both incidents significantly reduced the planned 15-year operational lifespan of the satellites. Intelsat 33e operated for only 8 years instead of the planned 15.

Earlier, "Telegraph" also reported that a new Wi-Fi standard will be introduced in Ukraine. It will significantly increase data transmission speeds.
