A strong magnetic storm, lasting over a week, is gradually coming to an end, and in the coming days, a moderate geomagnetic storm at a level of 4 is expected to persist. Scientists also warn of an active sunspot that is producing intense flares.
As stated on the Meteoagent website, which bases its forecasts on NOAA satellite systems, TESIS, and international meteorological laboratories worldwide, on Tuesday, January 7, a moderate magnetic storm at level 4 is ongoing.
No geomagnetic fluctuations above level 4 are anticipated from January 8 to 12, inclusive.
At the same time, astro-meteorologists are warning of strong X-class flares, which are the largest of the maximum types, as there is an active sunspot AR3947 on the Sun. This sunspot has a "beta-gamma-delta" magnetic field that accumulates energy for powerful explosions. Scientists from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predict that the probability of an explosion on January 7 is 25%.
As a reminder, earlier "Telegraph" reported on where in Ukraine the air temperature will rise to +14 degrees on January 8.
