At the end of this year, the Earth will experience at least one more magnetic storm. It is expected to occur soon — in the middle of the month.
This information was published on the website of Meteoagent, which creates online forecasts using data from NOAA, TESIS satellite systems, and international scientific meteorological laboratories worldwide. Experts have updated the geomagnetic activity forecast for December 2024.
According to them, the magnetic storm will hit the Earth on December 19. It is known that its K-index will be 4 (yellow level). This indicates that the geomagnetic activity will not be too strong.
In the following days, until January 8, no significant magnetic storms are anticipated. The K-index will remain at levels 2-3.
It is important to note that the situation may still change by the end of the month. The solar flare forecast is updated online as new data about solar activity comes in, usually every 10 minutes.
Recall that earlier, "Telegraph" reported that at the beginning of October, powerful magnetic storms attacked the Earth, with indices reaching levels 7, 8, and 9.
